IDAHO FALLS RESIDENT RECOGNIZED

AS A COMMUNITY CHAMPION

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho – November 21, 2011 – Molina Medicaid Solutions in Idaho recently recognized ten community heroes at its first annual Community Champions Awards, including Enrique Rivera from Idaho Falls. The ceremony, which was held at the Joint School District Training Center, also included entertainment provided by The Jazz Machine, a group of students from the ArtsWest School of the Performing and Visual Arts.

Rivera volunteers for the Community Council of Idaho, an organization focused on bettering the lives of the migrant and seasonal farm worker population. The Council’s mission is to provide families with resources and opportunities in education, housing, health and employment through medical clinics, community resource centers and head start programs.  He started with the Community Council five years ago as the treasurer and is now serving the organization as president. In these roles, Rivera has helped the organization’s development housing production, fundraising and served on the organization’s Health Council.

"Enrique is a leader who is committed to helping the underserved in his community,” said Del Bell, executive account manager of Molina Medicaid Solutions in Idaho. “Through his work for the Community Council, he is able to help provide resources and opportunities to those who need it the most in his community.”

Established to honor the memory of Dr. C. David Molina, the Community Champions program spotlights the good deeds of everyday heroes in their communities. The 2011 winners were nominated by a community-based organization and also received a $1000 grant to give to a deserving nonprofit organization as part of his/her award.  Rivera selected the Community Council of Idaho to receive his grant.
