"It's ironic that those who till the soil, cultivate and harvest the fruits, vegetables, and other foods that fill your tables with abundance have nothing left for themselves."

| The lives of the individuals and families that we serve are continually affected by the economic realities of the Idaho rural agricultural economies. The links between the economic well being of those we serve and their communities are inseparable. We know that the dream of our family's share is not a dream of continually drifting from location to location, it is to participate fully in the American Dream. The Economic & Community Partnerships that are developed through the Community Council of Idaho are designed with a twofold purpose; to assist the individuals that we serve directly with the economic transition to full participation, and to assist Idaho rural economies to grow along with this new economic force. |
|
| Housing: A core value of the Community Council of Idaho is that all individuals and families deserve safe, secure and decent housing. However, we are aware that housing doesn't always mean a home, our efforts in developing multi-family sites, and our homeownership programs are focused on providing homes! |
|
| Multi-family Housing: With seven multi-family communities, we are a major developer of affordable housing. These units are located throughout the State of Idaho to serve the needs of Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers and their families. We also provide transitional services to homeless and single individuals, homeless families, and other housing needs of rural communities. |

Business Development: El Mercado, an office/retail complex in Caldwell, ID is a strong example of our approach to partnership with local communities. This complex is home to the Community Council of Idaho central offices, the Caldwell Community Resource Center, and Salud Y Provecho. We also partner to provide space to organizations that provide services to our community. An example of this partnership approach with the Treasure Valley Community College Center. As a partner in the El Mercado complex, TVCC will be offer expanded educational opportunities to our constituents at a location that is convenient, and known as a cultural resource.
Latino owned and operated businesses are one of the fastest growing segments of the economy of the State of Idaho, and the Community Council of Idaho continues to recognize the need to remain a partner in the lives of our constituents as they assume new roles within the communities of Idaho. |
